Beginning with version 5.0 of our MyFitnessPal app for iOS, we have combined our iPhone and iPad apps into what is known as a "universal" app. The universal app contains the formats for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad versions of MyFitnessPal.
Combining the apps into a single app for delivery through the App Store will make it easier for us to update the MyFitnessPal efficiently, and to maintain parity in the features offered to our iPhone and iPad users.
If you have the "old" iPad app (indicated by the letters "HD" on the app's icon) please be aware that this version of the iPad app will no longer receive feature updates or bug fixes. If you are running iOS 6.0 or higher, we highly recommend downloading the new universal app. You can search for it in the App Store or by following this link.
Once the new app is installed, tap "Log In" and log in to your existing account by entering your current MyFitnessPal log in information.
After verifying that your data has successfully synced from our website to the new universal app, you may safely delete the "HD" version of the app from your iPad.
