iOS users can share logged food items, from their diary, with friends on MFP!
Launching with version 7.11, the MyFitnessPall app will allow iOS users running iOS 10+ to use iMessage as a means to share logged items that their friends can save or log later.
Can I Use iMessage Sharing On My Phone?
iOS users running iOS 10 or later and with MFP version 7.11 or later will be able to send meals via iMessage. Click here for instructions on how to send meals.
Don't see the option yet? Don't fret. This feature is being rolled out slowly (for quality assurance) and may not have reached your account yet. No need to do anything special to receive it, just check back in the Quick Tools menu occasionally.
Can I Send A Meal To Anyone/ Multiple People?
You are able to send meals via iMessage to anyone you are able to send a text (SMS) to. You will need to have them saved in your contacts, type in their phone number, or use their AppleID email address linked to their iMessage account.
Note: Messages are not sent via MFP usernames/accounts, then will transfer via SMS
How Do I Send Someone a Meal From My MFP App?
While viewing your diary, tap the Quick Tools button located on the bottom right on the meal slot you want to send (This will look like three little dots in a row " ... "). This pops up the Quicks Tools menu and allows you to select "Share Via iMessage" on the bottom of the menu. Deselected any items you may not want to send, then tap "Send" when ready. A photo summary of your meal is created and dropped into a New Message within your iMessage app. Add one or more recipients names, phone numbers, or AppleID emails in the "To" field, add a comment under the meal (optional), then hit Send. Voila! That meal is just been delivered to its recipient.
How Do I Send Someone a Meal Directly From The iMessage App?
While in any new or current iMessage thread, tap the gray "Apps" symbol on the bottom (looks like the letter "A" made out fo different objects). Next, tap the 4 ovals icon in the bottom left corner, find and tap the MyFitnessPal logo and a minimized view of your "Today" diary will show. From here you can scroll and select food items to send, tap the up arrow in the bottom right to go full screen, tap "Today" to change your and diary date (if needed). Once everything is in order you can add an optional message to accompany your meal or just tap send to share.
Do I Have To Send The Entire Meal?
By default, all entries listed within your selected meal slot will be checked off and ready to send.
Don't want to send a specific item? Just tap the check mark next to that item to deselect it and keep it out of your message.
I Just Received A Meal From Someone, Now What?
Tap it! Tapping the photo (or link) should cause your phone to jump to the MFP app (if you are not currently signed in, it will ask for your credentials first). From there, you will see a summary of the foods about to be added. Want to log these items on a different day than today? Click here then come back afterward. If not, move on to the next step by tapping the blue "Add Foods" button. Then, select which meal slot you'd like you meals to land in and tap the check (tick) mark in the blue header to finish.

I Want To Log The Meal On A Different Day Or Different Meal Slot, Can I?
Once you tap to open the link from your iMessage screen, look for and tap the blue "Today" in the top right of your screen. Tapping here will open up a date picker that you can adjust to make sure your received meal will land on the right day. Be sure to save your changes by tapping the blue check (tick) mark to finish.
Can I Save A Meal That A Friend Sent Me?
