How to add or delete a profile photo

This article explains how to add a main profile photo in the MyFitnessPal app or on the website. It also shows how to add extra photos and delete photos on the website.

 

Your profile should feel like you. A photo helps friends spot you fast. Every MyFitnessPal member can add a main profile photo. It only takes a minute. Changed your mind about a photo? You can delete it at any time on the website.

 

Adding a photo to your profile

iOS

  1. Open the MyFitnessPal app.
  2. Tap the More menu. If you don’t have a More menu, tap your Profile Icon in the upper right corner instead.
  3. Tap My Profile, then tap Edit Profile.
  4. Tap on your current profile photo, then tap Take photo or Choose Existing Photo.
    -If you select to take a photo, tap Use Photo when you’re done. 
    -If you select an existing photo, select the one you want and then tap Choose.

Android

  1. Open the MyFitnessPal app.
  2. Tap the More menu. If you don’t have a More menu, tap your Profile Icon in the upper right corner instead.
  3. Tap Settings, then tap Edit Profile.
  4. Tap on your current profile photo, then tap Take photo or Choose Existing Photo
    -If you select to take a photo, tap OK when you’re done.
    -If you select an existing photo, select the one you want and then tap Done.

Website

  1. Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
  2. Click the Profile tab.
  3. Click Edit Photos.
  4. Click Browse or Choose File. (Your browser decides which one you see.)
  5. Select the photo you want, then click Open.
  6. Click Upload Photo.
  7. Select your uploaded photo, then click Main Image to make it your main profile photo.

Repeat steps 5 through 7 to add more photos. Only one photo can be your main photo.

Deleting an image (Website only)

Deleting an image must be done through the website. 

  1. Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
  2. Click the Profile tab.
  3. Click Edit Photos.
  4. Click on an image to select it.
  5. Click Delete.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add more than one photo to my profile?

Yes, but only on the website. The app lets you set your main profile photo.

Why won't my photo upload on my tablet?

Website uploads might not work on some tablets. Try the MyFitnessPal app on your phone, or use a computer.

Do I need Premium to add a profile photo?

No. Every MyFitnessPal member can add a main profile photo.

Is a profile photo the same as a progress photo?

No. A profile photo is for your profile. Read the Progress Photos FAQs to learn how progress photos work. 

Does deleting a photo delete my account?

No. Deleting a photo only removes that photo. Learn how to delete your MyFitnessPal account if you want to close your account.
