This article explains how to turn on and use GLP-1 medication tracking in MyFitnessPal, including logging, editing, and deleting doses. It also covers reminders, side effect tracking, and how to report issues or share feedback.
Track Your GLP-1 Medication in MyFitnessPal
MyFitnessPal lets you track your GLP-1 medication dose, time, and injection location right alongside your food. This article covers how to turn on GLP-1 tracking, log and edit your doses, and manage reminders and side effects.
*GLP-1 tracking is available only to users in the United States (iOS and Android) and in Canada (iOS), with the app set to English.
How to Track Your GLP-1 Medication
If you told us during account setup that you take or plan to start a GLP-1 prescription, such as Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Zepbound, tracking is already turned on in your Diary.
If you skipped that step, you can turn it on anytime.
- Tap the More menu in the bottom right. If you don't see a More menu, tap your Profile Icon in the upper right instead, then tap GLP-1 Support.
- Tap GLP-1 Support.
During setup, you'll enter your prescription brand and last dose, plus the date and injection location for that dose.
You enter your own medication details. MyFitnessPal does not verify your medication, dose, or timing, and doesn't alert you to missed doses, interactions, or side effects. Always follow your prescriber's instructions, and use this feature for reference only.
Log Your GLP-1 Medication Dose
Log your next dose anytime, before or after you take it.
- Tap the GLP-1 tracker above your meals, or tap the blue + at the bottom of your screen.
- Review the brand and injection location, pre-filled from your last dose.
- Update the date, time, or location if needed.
- Save your entry.
MyFitnessPal pre-fills your last logged brand and location, but always sets the time to right now. Update any field before saving.
Edit or Delete a GLP-1 Medication Log
Update a past dose the same way you'd update a food log.
- Use the date picker at the top of your screen to go to the day of the dose.
- Tap the entry above your meals, or tap GLP-1 medication from the blue + menu.
- Tap Edit Medication Log. Here, you can make edits and tap Save Changes when you’re done. Or you can tap Delete Log.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I track other medications, supplements, or vitamins?
No. GLP-1 tracking is built specifically for GLP-1 dosing and logging. We don't recommend using it for other medications, though we're exploring support for more medication types in the future.
Can I log my dose ahead of time?
Yes. Use the date picker at the top of your screen to go to the day you want, then log your dose as usual.
Why can I only log my dose in milligrams?
Milligrams is the only unit available right now. We're looking into adding more unit options in a future update.
Can I get reminded to log my dose?
Yes. Open the menu by tapping More in the bottom right, or your Profile Icon in the upper right of the screen. Tap Reminders, then turn the toggle on for Add GLP1 reminder.
How do I log side effects?
Tap Set up on the Side Effects card in the GLP-1 section of your Today tab. Select the side effects you want to track, choose their severity, then tap Finish.
