THE SHORT VERSION
─────────────────────────────
If you use Fitbit with MyFitnessPal, there's an important change coming from Google that you'll want to act on now. The Fitbit app is being renamed and redesigned as the Google Health app [3], and standalone Fitbit logins will stop working after May 19, 2026 [5]. If you haven't already moved your Fitbit account to a Google Account, your Fitbit sync with MyFitnessPal may stop working.
WHAT GOOGLE IS CHANGING
─────────────────────────────
Google (which acquired Fitbit in January of 2021) is continuing the integration of Fitbit into its ecosystem. Starting May 19, 2026, the Fitbit app will officially become the Google Health app with a redesigned interface and new features [4]. As part of this transition, Google is ending support for standalone Fitbit accounts [5]. A Google Account will be required to sign in.

IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE WITH FITBIT SYNC
─────────────────────────────
Step 1: Check if you've already migrated
Open the Fitbit app. If you're signing in with a Google Account, you have migrated your Fitbit account to a Google account. If you haven't migrated, you will need to reach out to Fitbit support for additional information.
Step 2: Re-check your MyFitnessPal connection
After migrating, verify that your Fitbit connection in MyFitnessPal is still active. If it dropped, simply disconnect and reconnect Fitbit from the MyFitnessPal app under Settings > Connected Apps.
If Fitbit sync with MyFitnessPal stops working after May 19 and you've already completed both the Google Account migration and unlinking/relinking Fitbit and MyFitnessPal, please reach out to MyFitnessPal Support and we'll help troubleshoot. You can find us here.
