How do I invite a current member to be my friend on MyFitnessPal?

This article provides instructions on how to add a friend on MyFitnessPal using three different methods: Apps, Website, and through the Community Forums.

Also included: A linked article on how to invite someone who isn't a member yet to join MyFitnessPal.

 

First, find the username of the person you'd like to add as a friend. Once you have it, you can easily send your friend an invitation on MyFitnessPal!

 

Apps:

  1. Open the MyFitnessPal app
  2. Go to the More menu
  3. Scroll down to Friends
  4. Tap the plus (+) symbol in the top right corner
  5. Select Email or MyFitnessPal Username
  6. Type in the username of the person you want to add where it says To: (friend's username)
  7. Where it says Your Full Name, enter your username or name
  8. Then tap the checkmark in the top right to send your request

 

Website:

  1. Go to our website: www.myfitnesspal.com
  2. Log in to your account. If you use the mobile app, log in with the same email and password you use there.
  3. Navigate to your friend's profile page, or go to https://www.myfitnesspal.com/profile/ Username and replace Username with your friend's username. This will take you straight to their profile page
  4. Click Add as Friend to send your friend request

 

Please Note: Some users may opt out of being located on MyFitnessPal.

Through the Community Forums:

You can also add a friend you met through the community forums.

 

Apps:

  1. Open the MyFitnessPal app
  2. Go to the More menu
  3. Scroll down to Community
  4. Find a discussion where your friend has posted, or use the search bar to look up their username
  5. Tap their username
  6. Select View Profile
  7. Tap MyFitnessPal Profile
  8. Below Lost and Friends, tap the person emoji with a plus sign
  9. Your friend's name will appear where it says To:
  10. Where it says Your Full Name, enter your username or your name
  11. Tap the checkmark in the top right corner to send your request

 

Website:

  1. Go to our website: www.myfitnesspal.com
  2. Log in to your account. If you use the mobile app, log in with the same email and password you use there
  3. Click the Community tab
  4. Find a discussion where your friend has posted, or use the search bar to look up their username
  5. Click their username
  6. Select View Profile
