This article explains how the Net Carbs tracking feature works for Premium and Premium Plus members in the MyFitnessPal app. It covers what Net Carbs are, how they are calculated, how to turn on the feature, goal setting, and any limits or availability details.
Not every carb works the same way. Net carbs count only the ones your body uses for fuel. Those are the carbs that affect your blood sugar most. Net Carbs Mode helps you log the number that matters to you. Turn it on once, and your carb tracking follows.
The Net Carbs setting is available with a Premium subscription. Net carbs are not currently available for our International users or on our website. However, if a user sets Net Carb goals through the app, they will see the updated Net Carb goals on the website under the Carbohydrates heading.
What net carbs are, and how they're calculated
MyFitnessPal calculates net carbs with this formula:
-
Net carbs = total carbs minus fiber minus sugar alcohols
