This article explains how to sort your food lists on iOS, Android, and the website.
Scrolling through a long list looking for one item gets old fast. MyFitnessPal offers three different ways to sort your lists.
Sorting your food lists
iOS
- Open the MyFitnessPal app.
- On your Today page, start to log food by tapping Log next to any meal slot, or by tapping the blue plus (+) at the bottom of the screen.
- Under History, tap the circle menu icon to the right of Recently Logged.
- Sort your list however works best for you: Most Recent, Most Frequent, A to Z, or Z to A.
Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app.
- On your Today page, start to log food by tapping Log next to any meal slot, or by tapping the blue plus (+) at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the sorting option bubble to the right of the word History.
- Sort your list however works best for you: Most Recent, Most Frequent, A to Z, or Z to A.
Website
- Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Click the Food tab at the top of the page.
- Click Add Food under any meal: Breakfast, Lunch, whatever you're logging.
- Click Sort By on the right, above your food lists. (Recent, Frequent, My Foods, Meals, Recipes)
- Click Default and change it to by Name.
Frequently asked questions
Will my sort preference be remembered next time I log food?
Yes! Your sort preference sticks. Once you set it, MyFitnessPal remembers it for your next log, so you don't have to reselect it.
Is alphabetical the default sort order?
No. The default order is typically based on how recently or frequently you've logged each food item. You'll need to switch it manually if you prefer alphabetical order.
