This article explains how to manage your Google Health (formerly Fitbit) connection in MyFitnessPal on iOS, Android, and the web. You'll learn how to link your accounts, choose Google Health as your step data source, and unlink the accounts if needed.
How to link Google Health
You can link your Google Health (formerly Fitbit) account from our iOS and Android apps, as well as from our Website.
Once you have registered your tracker and created an account with Google Health, you can take the steps below for the platform you’re using to get connected.
iOS
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap on the More menu at the bottom right of your screen. If you don’t have a More menu in your app, tap your Profile Icon in the upper right corner of your screen instead.
- Next, tap on Apps & Devices, then select Google Health.
- On the next page, tap Connect. Once you select this, you will be taken to a page to re-sign into MyFitnessPal. Please use the same email/password you're using in the app.
Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap on the More menu at the bottom right of your screen.
- Next, tap on Apps & Devices, then select Google Health.
- On the next page, tap Connect. Once you select this, you will be taken to a page where you can sign in to MyFitnessPal again. Please use the same email/password you're using in the app.
Web
- Log in to your MyFitnessPal account on our website here, using the same email and password you use to log into our app.
- Click on the Apps tab near the top of the screen, then click on Google Health.
- Then click on the blue Connect button, and follow the prompts to log into your accounts.
If you are having trouble connecting within the iOS or Android apps, we recommend connecting on our website instead. Once connected on the website, the connection will transfer over to the app.
To double-check that the connection has been made, you can log in to our website here using the same email and password you use to log in to the app. Once you’re logged in, click on the Apps tab. On that page you should see a list of your current connected apps, Google Health should now be one of them.
Please note: Once the accounts have been connected, only future information will transfer over.
