Connect Apple Health to MyFitnessPal to sync food, exercise, weight, and sleep data automatically. This article covers how to turn on the connection, manage permissions, and understand what data moves between the two apps.
Connect and Manage Apple Health
Connect Apple Health to MyFitnessPal from your iPhone in a few steps:
Open the MyFitnessPal app on your iPhone. Tap More in the bottom right, if you don’t see the More menu, tap your Profile Icon in the upper right corner instead. Tap Settings . Tap Sharing & Privacy . Tap HealthKit Sharing . Turn on the data categories you want to share. We suggest turning all categories on. Tap Allow . This data-selection screen only appears the first time you connect Apple Health.
Checking on the connection
If you would like to change the sharing options after linking MyFitnessPal and Health, Apple requires that you visit the Settings app on your iPhone.
Open the iPhone Settings app. Tap Health . Tap Data Access & Devices . Tap MyFitnessPal . Turn sharing categories on or off. Apple Health runs on your device rather than as a separate app, so it will not appear under Connected Apps in MyFitnessPal.
