This article helps you fix Dexcom G6 blood glucose data that isn't syncing to MyFitnessPal through Health Connect on Android. It covers checking permissions, running a manual sync, and other troubleshooting steps.
Checking Your Health Connect Connection and Permissions (Android)
Before troubleshooting MyFitnessPal, confirm your Dexcom glucose data appears in Health Connect. If it's missing from Health Connect, contact Dexcom support for help. If your data appears in Health Connect but not in MyFitnessPal, check your permissions:
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More menu in the bottom right.
- Tap Apps & Devices, then Connected, then Health Connect, then tap Manage.
- On the Health Connect permissions screen, tap App permissions, then MyFitnessPal.
- Confirm every permission toggle is On.
If you are having trouble finding the permissions screen, please reach out to our Support Team.
Fixing a Connection With No Glucose Data (Android)
If permissions are on and your data appears in Health Connect, but not in MyFitnessPal, try these steps in order.
- Open the MyFitnessPal app, and tap the More menu in the bottom right. Then tap Sync at the bottom of the menu to force a manual sync.
- If that doesn't help, check the Google Play Store for updates to MyFitnessPal, Health Connect, and your Dexcom app.
- If no updates are available, force close MyFitnessPal. Open your Android Phone’s Settings app, then Apps. Tap MyFitnessPal, then tap Force Stop. Reopen the app and tap Sync again.
- If the issue continues, restart your phone completely. Don't just put it to sleep. Reopen MyFitnessPal and tap Sync.
- If your data is still missing, reestablish your Health Connect link.
