This article shows you how to edit or delete a food you created in My Foods. It covers steps for iOS, Android, and the website.
Keeping your custom foods up to date means every log tells the true story of what's on your plate. The good news? A quick edit is all it takes. You can edit or delete any food you created, as long as it hasn't been shared to the public food database.
iOS
To edit a food:
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More button or your Profile icon to open the Menu.
- Tap My Meals, Recipes & Foods.
- Tap the Foods tab.
- Tap the food you want to change.
- Tap Edit Food.
- Make your changes, then tap the check mark in the upper right corner to save.
To delete a food:
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More button or your Profile icon to open the Menu.
- Tap My Meals, Recipes & Foods.
- Tap the My Foods tab.
- Swipe left on the food you want to remove.
- Tap Delete.
Android
To edit a food:
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More button or your Profile icon to open the Menu.
- Tap Recipes, Meals & Foods.
- Tap the Foods tab.
- Tap the food you want to change.
- Make your changes, then tap Save.
To delete a food:
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More button or your Profile icon to open the Menu.
- Tap Recipes, Meals & Foods.
- Tap the Foods tab.
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
- Tap the Edit icon.
- Check the box next to each food you want to remove.
- Tap the trash can icon.
Website
- Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Click the Food tab.
- Click the My Foods tab.
- Search for the food, then select it from the results.
- Select Edit to make changes, or Delete to remove the food.
Frequently asked questions about My Foods
Why can't I edit or delete the food I created?
If you shared the food to the public database, it can no longer be edited or deleted. You can create a new version with the correct details instead. Learn how to add a new food to My Foods.
Will editing a food change the entries I've already logged?
No. Your changes apply to future logs. Past diary entries keep the details they had when you logged them.
If I delete a food from My Foods, will it disappear from my diary?
