This article shows you how to share recipes on MyFitnessPal, even though the app does not let you share them directly. You can copy the nutritional details of a recipe from a friend's food diary to your own if they have enabled Diary Sharing.
As a workaround for friends or family on the program who have set their Diary Sharing options to allow you to view their diary, you can copy a meal (logged Recipe/Food) from a friend's diary to yours.
Apps:
- Open the MyFitnessPal app
- Go to the More menu
- Then click Friends
- Tap the friend whose diary you have permission to view
- Then tap View Diary or the Diary (book) icon
- Tap the three dots • • • under the meal you wish to copy
- Tap Copy to Date
- Then choose the meal and date you wish to copy to
Please note: If your friends use custom meal names, you may encounter issues in the app. Check out this article to learn why the View Diary feature might not display your friend's meals correctly.
Website:
- Visit our website at www.myfitnesspal.com
- Log in to your account. If you use the mobile app, log in with the same email and password you use there.
- Click on My Home
- Next, click on Friends
- Then select your friend's profile
- Click View Diary
- Click Quick Tools under the meal you want to copy
- Select Copy to Today or Copy to Date
Please note: If your friend has added a fifth or sixth meal to their diary, you need to have a meal in the same spot in your diary before you can copy from those slots.
