The Recipe Importer lets you add a recipe to MyFitnessPal by pasting a link from a recipe website. The app matches the ingredients to foods in our database. You can review the ingredients, set the number of servings, and save or log the recipe. This article covers the steps for the iOS and Android apps.

Importing a recipe in the apps
iOS
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the Profile icon to open the Menu.
- Tap My Meals, Recipes & Foods.
- Tap the Recipes tab, then tap Create a Recipe.
- Tap Add from the Web.
- Next, tap on the browser at the top of the screen and paste in the link to the recipe you want to import. Once your link is pasted in, tap Import Recipe.
- You'll then see an Edit Ingredients screen. Tap the arrow in the top right.
- Tap Add Ingredients or Edit Ingredients to make adjustments if needed. When you're done, tap the arrow in the upper right corner again.
- Enter the name of the recipe and the number of servings.
- Tap Save or Save & Log it.
Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the Profile icon to open the Menu.
- Tap My Meals, Recipes & Foods.
- Tap the Recipes tab, then tap Create a Recipe.
- Tap Add from the Web.
- Next, tap on the browser at the top of the screen and paste in the link to the recipe you want to import. Once your link is pasted in, tap Import Recipe.
- You'll then see a Review page. Tap Next in the top right.
- Tap the + in the upper right corner to add more ingredients, or tap the Pencil Icon to delete ingredients if needed. Tap Next when you're done.
- Enter the name of the recipe and the number of servings.
- Tap Save.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see the Add from the Web option in the app?
The Recipe Importer is only available when your device is set to English. Check your device language settings and try again.
Can I use the Recipe Importer on the MyFitnessPal website?

What if an ingredient doesn't match the right food?
You can fix it before you save. On iOS, use Edit Ingredients. On Android, use the + or the Pencil Icon on the Review page.
Can I change an imported recipe after I save it?
