How to moderate your MyFitnessPal group

This article explains how to moderate posts in your MyFitnessPal group and how to add or remove Group Leaders.

 

Every good group needs a little tending. As the Group Owner or a Leader, you're the one who keeps the conversation on track and welcoming. You can edit or delete posts, pin topics to the top of your group's message boards with the announce feature, and moderate the group in other ways. Here's how to manage posts and bring on extra help.

Only the Group Owner and Leaders can edit or delete posts, pin topics, or change a member's role. Members don't have moderation abilities. Group Owners and Leaders can also promote other members to Leaders to help share the moderation work.

 

To Moderate a Post:

Apps:

  1. Open the MyFitnessPal app.
  2. Tap on the More icon.
  3. Scroll down and tap Community
  4. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
  5. Tap Groups.
  6. Select the group where you're the Group Owner or a Leader.
  7. Find the post you want to edit or delete.
  8. Tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the post.
  9. Tap Edit or Delete.

 

Website:

  1. Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
  2. Click the Community tab.
  3. Click Groups.
  4. Select the group where you're the Group Owner or a Leader.
  5. Find the post you want to edit or delete.
  6. Click the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the post.
  7. Click Edit or Delete.

You can only change a member's status in groups you own or lead the group.

Add or remove group leaders

  1. Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
  2. Click the Community tab.
  3. Click Groups.
  4. Select the group where you're the Group Owner or a Leader.
  5. Click Manage Members.
  6. Promote a Member to Leader, or move a Leader back to Member.

You can only change a member's status in groups you own or lead the group.
