This article explains what a Premium+ subscription includes and how to upgrade from Free or Premium on iOS, Android, and the website.

How to create a Premium+ subscription
iOS and Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the Plan button at the bottom of your screen.
- Tap Get Started.
- Go through the Meal Planning onboarding process.
- At the end of onboarding, choose between the monthly or yearly Premium+ plan, and tap Start your 7-day Free Trial.
- Select your payment method, then tap Subscribe.
Website
- Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Click the Premium tab near the top right of the screen.
- Scroll down a bit and choose between the monthly or yearly Premium+ plan, and click Start Free Trial.
- Enter your payment method, and click Start Enjoying Premium.
How to upgrade from standard Premium to Premium+
If you already have a standard Premium subscription but want the benefits of Premium, follow the steps below to upgrade your subscription.
iOS
If you are currently on a standard Premium subscription and you're upgrading to Premium+, you will be refunded the prorated difference directly by Apple. You will then be charged for the Premium+ subscription cost, either monthly or yearly depending on what you selected when you upgraded.
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More menu. If you do not have a More menu in your app, tap your Profile Icon in the upper right instead.
- Tap My Premium at the top of the menu.
- Tap the words Your plan in the upper right corner of the yellow Premium banner.
- You should then see a direct path on your subscription screen to upgrade your Premium subscription.
Android
If you are currently in a standard Premium subscription and you’re upgrading to Premium+, you are upgrading within your current billing period. This means you will be charged the difference for the remainder of the billing period. When your renewal date comes, you’ll be charged the full price of Premium+ for the upcoming subscription period (either monthly or yearly, depending on the option you selected when you upgraded).
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and tap the More menu.
- Tap My Premium at the top of the menu.
- Tap the words Your plan in the upper right corner of the yellow Premium banner.
- You should then see a direct path on your subscription screen to upgrade your Premium subscription.
Website
If you are currently in a standard Premium subscription, and you’re upgrading to Premium+, you are upgrading within your current billing period. This means you will be charged the difference for the remaining time in the billing period. When your renewal date comes, you’ll be charged the full price of Premium+ for the upcoming subscription period (either monthly or yearly, depending on the option you selected when you upgraded).
- Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Click the Settings tab near the top of your screen, then click Subscription Settings.
- Click Manage your plan.
- Select your desired plan, and click Continue.
- Click Confirm and add your payment method.
Frequently asked questions
Do I lose my Premium features when I move to Premium+?
No. Premium+ includes everything in Premium, so nothing goes away.
Do I need Premium+ to log food?
No. Food logging, calorie tracking, and the food database are free for everyone. Premium+ adds the Meal Planner and the Premium tools on top.
Does my Premium+ subscription work on all my devices?
Premium+ features are only available on the iOS and Android apps at this time.
