This article explains how to edit or delete an exercise you personally added to your MyFitnessPal database.
Custom exercises are yours to fine-tune. Whether the details changed or you just don't need it anymore, here's how to update or remove one.
Edit or delete a custom exercise
iOS
- Open the MyFitnessPal app.
- Tap the Profile icon to open the menu.
- Scroll down and tap Settings, then My Exercises.
- To delete the exercise, tap the Red circle on the left of the exercise name, then tap Delete.
- To edit the exercise, tap on it to open the editing page.
- Make the needed updates, then tap the Check mark in the upper right to save.
Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app.
- Tap the Profile icon to open the menu.
- Tap on your Profile Icon at the top of the menu one more time.
- Tap My Items, then tap either Cardio or Strength.
- To delete an exercise, tap the Pencil Icon in the upper right, Check the box for the exercise you want to delete, and then tap the Trash icon.
- To edit, tap on the exercise name, make the needed updates, then tap Save in the upper right.
Website
- Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Click the Exercise tab, then click My Exercises.
- Under Matching Exercises, search for the exercise you'd like to edit or delete, then click it to open it.
- To edit, update the details in the panel on the right and click Save.
- To delete, click Delete to remove the exercise from your database.

Can I edit an exercise from the standard database, not just one I created?
No. You can only edit or delete exercises you personally added to your database.
What happens to past diary entries if I delete a custom exercise?
Past entries stay in your diary history. Deleting the exercise only removes it from your database going forward.
