What's Included in Your Export
Every export includes three files, covering different parts of your MyFitnessPal history.
- Meal Level Nutrition Details. Calories, macronutrients, micronutrients, and timestamps for your logged foods, summarized by meal, plus any food notes you added.
- Progress History. Your logged measurements, such as weight, neck, waist, and hip entries.
- Exercise History. Your workouts, step counts, and daily calorie burns from a tracker, plus any exercise notes.
Downloading and Opening Your Files
MyFitnessPal emails your data as CSV files inside a single zip folder.
- Open the email from MyFitnessPal and click Download Files. Use a computer instead of a phone.
- Unzip the file. On a Mac, double-click it. On a PC, drag it to your desktop, then double-click to unzip.
- Open the unzipped folder. You'll find three CSV files: Your Progress, Your Exercise, and Your Nutrition.
About CSV Files
A CSV, or comma-separated values, file stores data in a table. Each value is separated by a comma, similar to a regular spreadsheet.
You can open a CSV file in most programs, but it's easiest to view in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, or Google Sheets.
