This article shows you how to add a food item to your My Foods list. The My Foods list is a personalized food list where you can save and access custom foods you’ve added to the database.
Follow the steps below to add an item to your My Foods list.
iOS
- Open the MyFitnessPal app
- Tap your Profile Icon near the top right, or tap the More menu near the bottom of the screen
- Tap Recipes, Meals & Foods, then tap the Food tab near the top of the screen
- Tap Create Food, enter the food information, and tap Save
Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app
- Tap the More menu, then tap Recipes, Meals & Foods
- Tap the Food tab near the top of the screen
- Tap Create Food, enter the food information, and tap Save

- Log in to your account on our website here using your email address and password.
- Click the Food tab near the top of the screen
- Next, click the My Food tab
- Click the blue Create Food button on the right
MyFitnessPal automatically adds your Frequent or Recent food items to those lists in your diary for easy access. If you want to create your own custom list, try using the My Meals feature.
If you have a homemade, local, or hard-to-find food that isn't in the MyFitnessPal database, you can add it yourself to help keep the database up to date.
