This article explains how to redeem a MyFitnessPal promotional code on the website, how to get your Premium access to show up in the iOS or Android app, and what to try if your code won't go through.
Got a promo code? Nice! That's a shortcut to Premium, and cashing it in takes about a minute. One thing to know up front: codes are redeemed on the MyFitnessPal website, not in the app. Once it's applied, Premium follows you back to your phone.
Redeem your code on the website
If you are using Sign in with Apple (SIWA) on your iOS device, you may need to set a password to log in to the website. SIWA is not currently available on the website. For more information, please refer to our Sign In with Apple help center page.
- Log in to the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Go to the promotional code redemption page.
- Enter your code exactly as you received it, then click Continue.
- Add your payment method, then click Subscribe.
- Premium should now show on your account on the website.
Premium should transfer to the app automatically, as long as you're logged in to the app with the same email and password you used on the website. You'll also need an internet connection.
If you see Premium on the website but not in the app, try this
- Update the MyFitnessPal app to the latest version in the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Open the MyFitnessPal app and log out.
- Log back in using the same email and password you used on the website.

If your code won't redeem
- Try a different browser. Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox each behave a little differently.
- Try a private browsing window. In Chrome, this is called Incognito. In Safari and Firefox it's Private Browsing.
- Check the code for typos. Copy and paste it instead of typing it, and watch for extra spaces.
- Check whether you already have Premium. You can't stack a promotional offer on top of an active subscription.
- Check the offer's terms. Some promotions expire on a set date.

I already have Premium. Can I redeem a promotional code now?
Not while your current subscription is active. To use the code, cancel your Premium renewal first. Once your paid period ends, you can redeem the code.

Can I use a promotional code to buy Premium as a gift?
