This article explains how to use the Customize Nutrient Dashboard setting to add an extra nutrient view to the macro card on your Today tab.
Calories only tell part of the story. Maybe you are keeping an eye on sodium, chasing a fiber goal, or watching your sugar. Whatever matters most to you deserves a spot on your home screen. If you are a Premium or Premium+ member, you get to decide what your macro card shows.
This setting is currently available in English on iOS and Android in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand. If you don’t see it yet, it’s on the way.
Add a nutrient view to your macro card
The macro card sits near the top of your Today tab. Tap the arrows on the card to move between views. By default, those views show your carbs, protein, and fat. This setting adds a fourth view built around a specific health goal.
iOS
- Open the MyFitnessPal app.
- Tap the More menu (•••) at the bottom of your screen. If you do not see a More menu, tap your Profile icon in the top right corner of the Today tab.
- Tap Settings, then tap Diary Settings.
- Tap Customize Nutrient Dashboard.
- Choose Macros-focused, Macros + Heart Healthy, or Macros + Carb Conscious.
- Return to your Today tab and tap the arrows on your macro card to move through your views.
Android
- Open the MyFitnessPal app.
- Tap the More menu (•••) at the bottom of your screen.
Website
The Today tab redesign is currently an app experience. On the website, your home page still uses the older Nutrient Dashboard, with its own set of preset views.
- Log into the website using the same email and password you use with the app.
- Click My Home near the top of the screen to get to your home page.
- On the right side, you’ll see a Custom Summary beneath your Macro card. Click Change Nutrients.
- Select 3 nutrients of your choice and click Save.
Your website choice and your app setting are saved separately, so changing one does not change the other.
What’s included with each macro option
| Macro Options | What appears on your macro card |
| Macros-focused | Your standard carbs, protein, and fat |
| Heart Healthy | Your standard macro views, plus a view showing saturated fat, sodium, and fiber |
| Carb Conscious | Your standard macro views, a view showing carbohydrates, sugar, and fiber |
Tapping the Heart Healthy or Carb Conscious view takes you to the Nutrients detail screen, where you can see the full picture for the day.
Frequently asked questions
What happened to the Nutrient Dashboard?
It moved. In the app, the separate dashboard component is gone, and its presets now live as extra views on the macro card on your Today tab. Low Carb is now called Carb Conscious, and Calorie Focus went away because your calories already sit at the top of the screen.
Do I need Premium to see my macros?
No. Every account sees the percentage of calories coming from carbs, protein, and fat. Premium and Premium+ members can tap the macro card to switch between grams consumed, grams remaining, and percentages, and can add a Heart Healthy or Carb Conscious view.
Can I still build my own three-nutrient combination?
Not on the Today tab. The custom option was retired along with the old dashboard. To see every nutrient MyFitnessPal tracks, tap Progress at the bottom of the app and choose the day or week you want to review. See how the Progress Overview personalizes your daily nutrition data for more.
Why doesn't Heart Healthy show cholesterol anymore?
It now tracks saturated fat, sodium, and fiber instead. Our nutrition team updated the mix to match current guidance on what actually supports heart health.
Why don't I see Customize Nutrient Dashboard in my settings?
This setting is rolling out gradually and is currently available in English on iOS and Android in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand. If you do not see it yet, it is on the way.
