If you come across a post in our forums that violates our Community Guidelines, please report it so our moderators can review the content. You can report a post in one of three ways: Spam, Abuse, or Report. Below, you will find more information about the purpose of each reporting option. Thank you for keeping our community safe!
On the Web or App:
To report a post, tap the “Flag" icon in the bottom left corner. You can then choose to report it as Spam, Abuse, or the other options available after clicking Report.
3 Different Types of Flags and How to Use Them:
Spam:
-
What is Spam: Spam refers to any unsolicited communication sent in bulk, usually machine-generated, such as those about Garcinia cambogia or miracle skin treatments, or anything that sounds too good to be true. Please report these types of posts as spam.
-
What is not Spam: Anything written by a human, such as promoting a product, advertising a Facebook page, blog, or fitness program. If someone is advertising, please use the report flag on the post.
-
When a post is flagged as spam five times, it will be hidden from the forums for review by our moderation team. Posts in the spam queue remain hidden until they are either approved or rejected. Posts that are rejected are classified as spam, while those that are approved will be restored to the forums.
Abuse:
- What is Abuse: This includes pornography, graphic or disturbing images, hate speech, and similar content. If you wouldn’t want your boss standing behind you while you open a message, or if having such material on your computer could get you fired from your job, you should consider it abuse. This definition applies to severe and urgent violations.
- What is Not Abuse: What does not constitute abuse includes general community guideline violations, posts with which you disagree, posts made by individuals you are arguing within a forum, and any other content that does not meet the criteria mentioned above.
- When a post is flagged as abusive five times, it will be hidden from the forums to allow our team of moderators to review the content. Posts in the abuse queue remain hidden until they are either approved or rejected. Rejected posts are considered abusive. Approved posts that do not qualify as abusive will be returned to the community without any further action.
If a post is neither Spam nor Abuse, it should be sent to the moderators via Report.
Report:
(Most forum-related reports should be submitted here)
- To report a post, select "Report" and then choose the appropriate reason. Use this option to notify us about posts that violate our Community Guidelines or to request the deletion of your own post. Every reported post is sent to a queue for review by staff or a volunteer moderator. Please note that this content will remain visible while it is under review.
- What happens when a post enters moderation: Once a post enters moderation, we determine whether there is an actual violation and which guideline the post violates. Then we can decide the severity of the violation based on the frequency of violations by that user.
