Welcome to our community!
All of us from the MFP team would like to welcome you to our site! MyFitnessPal members come from a variety of different backgrounds and visit the site from virtually every corner of the world, but we all share a common desire to lead healthier lives. To ensure MyFitnessPal remains a fun and friendly place for everyone, we have established the following site guidelines which we ask all of our members to follow.
If you haven’t yet, please take a moment to share your introduction and check out our inspiring success stories.
Moderation and Reporting Posts
MyFitnessPal is overseen by a team of volunteers along with a few full-time site administrators. Since we have a small team, it’s not feasible for us to read every post on the site, so we depend on our members to help us identify issues. If you notice a post that appears to violate our guidelines, you can assist us by using the “Flag > Report” button to inform us. One of our moderators will review the report as soon as possible and take appropriate action.
Groups
In addition to the Main Forums, MyFitnessPal also offers Groups that include their own message boards. Group forums are self-moderated, with each group appointing its own moderators responsible for ensuring compliance with both the group’s and MyFitnessPal’s site-wide guidelines.
Our Main Forums and Groups operate under MyFitnessPal’s community guidelines. We encourage you to review the guidelines thoroughly to ensure that anything you post meets our standards. Please remember to participate politely and constructively or refrain from posting altogether.

Some categories have specific rules, listed below.
Introduce Yourself and Getting Started:
Both categories exist for members to introduce themselves, greet others, get started, and connect with people in our community. While it’s important to remain patient and supportive in all forums, we respectfully ask that those posting in these categories keep in mind that these spaces are intended for beginners and introductions.
Challenges:
To engage in any discussion within this category, it is essential to possess a genuine interest in the specific challenge or to have a legitimate question about the challenge that informs your interest. Posts that question the value or necessity of a challenge are considered inappropriate. Derogatory remarks or any trolling behavior will lead to a warning. We encourage popular and/or long-term challenges to think about establishing a new group.
Debate Club:
This forum category has been established for members to engage in civil discussions regarding contentious topics (e.g., sugar addiction) and emerging science and nutrition policy. The primary goal of this forum is to provide a dedicated space for discussions on highly debated nutrition topics, often referred to as hot topics. By creating this category, our team requests that members allow the main forums to serve as a place for addressing the original poster's (OP's) questions rather than debating semantics or arguing over terminology. For instance, if an OP seeks help with their sugar addiction, please refrain from debating the nature of addiction within that discussion; instead, respectfully provide a solution. Remember that not everyone is interested in the intricate details of the science behind these issues. Those who wish to learn more about the science can voluntarily join the discussions in these forums, or they may simply choose not to post.
Participation in this category requires a genuine interest in the topics, and all responses and debates should be conducted respectfully. If you are not interested in these subjects, please refrain from posting in this section. Posts made to troll or intentionally instigate drama will be considered a violation of community guidelines. Trolling is defined as, but is not limited to, making deliberately offensive or provocative online posts aimed at upsetting someone or provoking an angry response (e.g., "here's why following the "xx" way of eating is stupid").
