This article outlines instructions for MyFitnessPal users on how to maintain a safe and supportive environment. It covers three main areas (to report another user, to block private messages, and to adjust your account privacy) with steps for both the mobile apps and the website.

To report another user:
Please contact us through the following methods.
Apps:
- Select More/Menu
- Then tap Help
- Then tap Contact Support
- Or contact an MFP Staff member directly by sending us a Private Message

- Go to our website: www.myfitnesspal.com
- Log in to your account. If you use the mobile app, log in with the same email and password you use there
- Visit www.myfitnesspal.com/help
- Click Submit a Request at the top of the page
To block private messages:
To block someone from sending you private messages, you first need to receive a message from them. This lets you access the option to block that user.
Website:
- Go to our website: www.myfitnesspal.com
- Log in to your account. If you use the mobile app, log in with the same email and password you use there
- Click the envelope icon at the top of the screen, next to your username
- Open the private message from the user you wish to block.
- When the message opens, you will see Block User next to Reply and Delete.
- Press Block to prevent further communication from this user.
*If this user is on your friends list, they can still view your profile, but private messages will be disabled. If you want to change this, you can unfriend them anytime. Your comfort and privacy matter, and you control your connections.
To adjust your account privacy:
When you join MyFitnessPal, you become part of a community-based program, and other members can view some of your information.
Your food diary is private by default, but you may choose to make this visible to your friends or all users.
If you would prefer not to have your profile page visible to other users on the site, you can change your profile privacy settings.
Apps:
- Log in to the website to update your profile. Any changes you make will also be saved on your mobile device
- Even if your profile is set to Myself Only, other members can still send you Friend Requests. You can accept or decline these requests, or click the small triangle under their photo on the Friend Request screen and select Block User to stop future contact

- Click on Settings at the top of the page
- Next, choose Privacy settings
- You can now choose from four options: Everyone, MyFitnessPal Members Only, My Friends Only, or Myself Only
