What is profanity?
We define profanity as any explicit, sexual, insulting or vulgar language or sexual innuendo that would not be appropriate in a professional or public setting.
MyFitnessPal is an inclusive & workplace-friendly community that does not condone or allow the use of profanity.
What does a profanity filter do?
A profanity filter is a form of content moderation that uses software to automatically screen and filter out profanity. Screened words are automatically replaced with a word of our choosing.
How does our profanity filter work?
If a user attempts to use profanity or any other filtered keywords while in the MyFitnessPal community, the filtered word will be replaced with *kitten*.
MyFitnessPal Staff are the sole arbitrators of what does and does not constitute as profanity in our community, as well as what words or phrases may be altered by our profanity filter. For more information on our language guidelines, please review our Community Guidelines. Please also be aware that attempting to circumvent our profanity filter through creative use of characters or innuendo is a breach of our Community Guidelines and will result in disciplinary action.
